Every year in July, the Anderson County Fair comes to town and the folks of Anderson County all agree it is the best six days of summer! This year, the United Way staff would also have to agree! We had so much fun at the 2021 Anderson County Fair.

Thank you, Kona Ice for supporting United Way.

A couple of months ago United Way staff came up with the idea to “take over” businesses’ booths at the fair. The idea was this would allow us to make new partnerships with businesses, the businesses and ourselves would get more foot traffic, and we could move around the fair each night. Each business not only shared their space with us but donated a raffle prize.

We want to say a big thank you to the businesses that so graciously let us take over their booths: Stephenson Realty and Auction, Powell Clinch Utility District, and Anderson Co Emergency Communications District. In addition, we would like to say thank you to the businesses that donated items for the raffle prizes: The Garden, Apple Blossom Cafe, Makin Merry’s Studio, Fox Toyota, El Jinete Oak Ridge Mexican Restaurant, Cinemark Tinseltown USA, and Burchfield Restaurant located in the DoubleTree by Hilton, Oak Ridge.

Two more shoutouts: Thank you to Kona Ice of Hardin Valley/Clinton/Powell for donating two give back nights to us from proceeds made at the Anderson Co Fair and Fox Toyota for donating T-shirts as a giveaway for each night at the fair.

We had tremendous support from so many amazing businesses and last week wouldn’t have been so successful without them. We were able to meet many new people and outreach in a big way.

Look for us next year during the best six days of summer! We will be returning to take over more booths in 2022!
