Food insecurity affects thousands of families, children, seniors, and individuals across East Tennessee, and Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is working every day to change that.

With a mission of leading the community in the fight to end hunger, Second Harvest serves 18 counties across East Tennessee, helping connect neighbors with the nutritious food they need to live healthier, more stable lives.

Currently, an estimated 229,980 East Tennesseans are at risk of hunger, uncertain where their next meal may come from. Second Harvest works to address that need through a broad network of programs, community partners, food distributions, and local organizations that help get food directly into the hands of people who need it.

Its vision is straightforward but powerful: adequate nutrition for a healthy life for adults, seniors, and children throughout East Tennessee.

Second Harvest also believes strongly in food for all. The organization recognizes that many circumstances can contribute to food insecurity and remains committed to making nourishing food accessible to every person experiencing hunger across its 18-county service area.

The fight against hunger takes an entire community. Second Harvest continues working toward a future where every East Tennessean has reliable access to nutritious food.
