Provides free legal services to low-income individuals and families, helping them navigate civil legal issues such as housing, family law, consumer protection, and access to public benefits.
Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge
Offers hands-on exhibits and educational programs in arts, science, history, and culture, providing interactive learning experiences for children and families.
Second Harvest Food Bank
Leads the fight against hunger by distributing over 22 million pounds of food annually through a network of 630+ community partners, serving 18 counties across the region.
Boys and Girls Club of Clinch Valley
Provides a safe, supportive environment for youth ages 5–17 in Oak Ridge and Harriman, Tennessee, offering afterschool and summer programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development.
Girls Inc. of Tennessee Valley
Girls Incorporated of Tennessee Valley (GITNV) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Through life-changing programs and experiences, we help girls discover their capabilities and reach their full potential.
Community Mediation Services
Dedicated to promoting community peace by helping individuals resolve conflicts through mediation. Their programs include the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP), Teen/Parent Mediation, Attendance Mediation, and Visitation Mediation. By facilitating open communication and mutual understanding, CMS empowers participants to find their own solutions to disputes, fostering a more harmonious community.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley
Provides a safe and supportive environment for youth in grades K–12 across five counties in East Tennessee. Through a variety of programs focusing on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character, the organization empowers young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Child Advocacy Center
Provides a safe, child-friendly environment where children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse, or witnessed violent crime, can receive comprehensive services. These include forensic interviews, medical evaluations, therapy, and victim advocacy, all coordinated through a multidisciplinary team approach. The center also offers support and education to non-offending family members and caregivers, helping to promote healing and resilience for the entire family unit. By centralizing these services, the center minimizes trauma and empowers children to begin their recovery journey in a supportive and nurturing setting.
ASAP of Anderson
Dedicated to preventing and reducing substance misuse among youth and adults in Anderson County, Tennessee. Through community collaboration, education, and evidence-based strategies, ASAP works to create a healthier, drug-free environment for all residents.
Boy Scouts of America GSMC
Serves 21 counties in East Tennessee, providing Scouting programs to over 10,000 youth annually. Through Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, STEM Scouts, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Exploring, the council offers character-building experiences that emphasize outdoor adventure, leadership, and community service. With the support of more than 3,000 trained adult volunteers, the council fosters ethical decision-making and moral development in young people.
Epilepsy Foundation
Dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by epilepsy through education, advocacy, research, and connection. They offer a range of services, including support groups, seizure first aid training, and a 24/7 helpline, to assist those living with epilepsy and their families. Additionally, the foundation funds research initiatives and works to raise public awareness about epilepsy and seizure disorders.
Friends of Literacy
Dedicated to transforming lives through literacy. They offer free, high-quality literacy and adult education programs to individuals facing educational challenges. By providing personalized tutoring, family literacy initiatives, and workforce readiness training, Friends of Literacy empowers adults and families to achieve their personal and professional goals. Their programs aim to enhance reading proficiency, foster a love for learning, and promote lifelong educational success.
Tennessee Out-Reach Center for Homeless (TORCH)
A community-based organization dedicated to addressing homelessness. TORCH offers various programs to assist individuals who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or unable to receive services elsewhere due to limiting factors such as lack of documentation. Their services include emergency shelter assistance, access to basic necessities, and referrals to community partners.
Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge
Provides free primary healthcare services to low-income, uninsured adults in Anderson, Morgan, and Roane counties. Their offerings include chronic disease management, women's health, gastrointestinal services, hepatitis C treatment, optometry, specialist referrals, and wellness programs. FMC operates clinics in Oak Ridge and Harriman, as well as a mobile clinic serving various locations.
Contact Care Line
A 24/7 crisis intervention and emotional support center serving East Tennessee. As a key partner in the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, CONTACT handles calls, texts, and chats for the greater Knoxville area and beyond, offering free, confidential support to individuals in emotional distress or suicidal crisis. Their trained staff and volunteers provide compassionate listening and connect callers to local resources. Additionally, CONTACT offers daily reassurance calls to isolated seniors and provides community training in suicide prevention and active listening.
East Tennessee Kidney Foundation
Provides essential services such as transportation to dialysis treatments, dental assistance for transplant eligibility, nutritional supplements, and community education and screenings. All funds raised remain within East Tennessee, directly benefiting local patients.
Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, Inc. (SCHAS)
Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers in East Tennessee. SCHAS provides accessible, non-medical in-home care services tailored to individual needs, enabling clients to maintain independence and remain in their homes. Services include light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care assistance, transportation, and respite care. With a commitment to compassionate support, SCHAS continues to serve the community, ensuring that clients receive the care they need to live safely and comfortably.
Keystone Adult Day Program
Offers a safe and engaging daytime environment for adults living with dementia and other cognitive challenges. Through structured activities like music and pet therapy, crafts, cooking, and exercise, Keystone promotes dignity, independence, and joy for its participants. The program also provides valuable support and resources for caregivers, fostering a compassionate community for both clients and their families.
The Arc Anderson County
Dedicated to advocating for and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Anderson County, Tennessee. Their mission is to promote advocacy, empowerment, and full participation for people with IDD. The organization offers various programs and services, including family advocacy, social and recreational activities, summer day camps, workshops, and public awareness initiatives.
Hope of East Tennessee
Provides comprehensive outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Their services include intensive outpatient programs, relapse prevention, 12-step facilitation, and transitional living support.
The Ecumencial Storehouse, Inc.
Provides essential household items—such as furniture, appliances, and kitchenware—to individuals and families in crisis. Established in 1984 and operated entirely by volunteers from 11 local congregations, the Storehouse serves clients referred by social service agencies, regardless of race, religion, or background. By offering these items at no cost, the organization helps clients transition into new homes following emergencies like fires, natural disasters, or economic hardship.
American Red Cross
Provides emergency assistance, disaster relief, and disaster preparedness education in the United States. Founded in 1881 by Clara Barton, it is the designated U.S. affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The organization delivers services through a network of volunteers and donors, offering shelter, food, and comfort to disaster victims, supplying about 40% of the nation's blood, and providing emergency communications for military families. The American Red Cross also offers training in first aid, CPR, and other lifesaving skills.
YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley
Committed to eliminating racism and empowering women in East Tennessee. Founded in 1899, it serves over 11,300 individuals annually across six counties, offering programs in victim advocacy, affordable housing, youth development, and racial justice. With facilities in downtown Knoxville, East Knoxville, and Oak Ridge, the YWCA provides safe housing for women, supports survivors of domestic violence, and fosters youth success through educational initiatives. Through its work, the YWCA promotes peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
Campbell County Rural Fire Service
A dedicated volunteer fire department serving approximately 275 square miles in rural Campbell County, Tennessee. Comprising 30 trained volunteers, CCRFS provides essential fire protection and emergency response services to local residents. Their responsibilities include wildfire suppression, structural fire response, and rescue operations. The department operates from multiple stations, including locations on River Drive, Old Middlesboro Highway, and Grantsboro Road in La Follette. CCRFS is committed to safeguarding lives and property through prompt and professional emergency services.
Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC)
Dedicated to supporting individuals and families in East Tennessee. Founded in 1987, ADFAC offers essential services aimed at promoting self-sufficiency and stability. Their programs include the Household Assistance Program, which provides short-term help with basic living needs and budget coaching; Appalachian Housing Partners, offering home repairs and new construction for first-time homebuyers; and a School Supplies Program that equips economically disadvantaged students with necessary educational materials. Through these initiatives, ADFAC strives to empower clients toward a secure and independent future.
Emory Valley Center
Dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, adults, and families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1955, the center offers a comprehensive range of services aimed at promoting independence, dignity, and respect. These services include early intervention programs, behavioral health support, personal assistance, workforce development, and family support initiatives. Emory Valley Center serves multiple counties in East Tennessee, providing individualized care and resources to empower individuals and families in achieving their goals.
Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services
Offers comprehensive mental health and substance use care for individuals of all ages, providing services such as outpatient therapy, medication management, inpatient care, crisis intervention, and school-based therapy. With over 23 locations across six counties—including Anderson, Campbell, Morgan, Roane, Fentress, and Scott—Ridgeview is committed to delivering compassionate, accessible care to those in need.
McNabb Center
Offering outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, residential care, and support for individuals facing challenges with mental health or addiction, the center serves children, adults, and families. Through its network of dedicated professionals, the McNabb Center helps individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives by addressing their emotional, behavioral, and social needs.
