It’s true! We love raising money with beer! A few years ago, things worked out for United Way of Anderson County to serve beer at the concerts for the Secret City Festival. We were excited about this for a few reasons. First, of course, we got to raise money to put into the essential grants provided to our incredible partner agencies. Next, we got to meet and talk to thousands of concert-goers! Lastly, we got to ensure there was safety around alcohol consumption at the biggest event of the year for our town. 

We absolutely love being in places where people are having fun – and concerts are for sure one of those places!! We partner with ASAP of Anderson to ensure that everyone has their ID checked and no one is overserved. We work hand in hand with festival organizers to ensure that the community is served and that everyone has a great time. What better fit is there for the United Way than right in the middle of the heart of the community?? 

When the ORNL Federal Credit Union began their free summer concert series, they didn’t know how fast the crowd would grow… they wanted to ensure fast, reliable and safe distribution of alcohol at those events and knew we had the experience – so they called us in. We were thrilled when the City of Oak Ridge gave us a permit so we could serve beer at all these events as well. 

So, this summer, look for us at the beer tent where we will be smiling, chatting and serving for tips! Join us and drink up to support more than 33 non-profits!
