Growing A Community

Luther Burbank once said,“Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.” Tonya Rooks has recently put this idea into practice at Kareday Terrace Apartments in the Scarboro Community, where she works as the Resident Service Coordinator. Ms. Rooks partnered with Boy Scouts Troop 42 and United Way of Anderson County to build a community garden for Kareday as part of a larger plan to improve the health and wellness of residents, many of whom are disabled or have chronic diseases.
