Running Your Campaign

The last quarter of 2022 is going to be so exciting for us here at United Way! Not only are we headed into campaign time but we are moving into our new space, launching new programs and events, and planning our annual Starfish Award Banquet –  all while we celebrate 65 years of service in Anderson County. There are so many ways for you to stay connected and help us reach our goals this year. We are thrilled with the outpouring of support we have received from the community and the many ideas we have been given to connect better with those we seek to serve.

We will be hosting quarterly volunteer opportunities starting this upcoming holiday season. These will focus on one-day activities that a group can achieve in a half or full day of volunteering. Some opportunities will be in our office space and others will be around the community.

We are bringing back interagency meetings! These will be for all nonprofit organizations interested in attending. We haven’t been able to hold these in person since 2019 and are thrilled to bring them back full force in September. Some will be round table meetings to hear what is new with everyone, some will be training presentations and others will be topical brainstorming sessions. While we have held virtual meetings over the last few years, we are excited to bring back in-person collaborative meetings.

Lastly, we will have storage space which will allow us to ramp our food pantry initiative back up! This will enable us to not only provide emergency food to those in need but to collect items in bulk from area grocery stores, etc to refill all area food pantries. We have already secured donations of laundry detergent and soap! We are considering the requests we have received to also have a clothing closet as well as other essential items and will keep you all updated on whether this is something possible for us to manage once we are moved and settled.

Here are a few events coming up soon to look forward to:
